The Cathedral Candle

Is this a religious candle? If you want it to be. Is it for people who only believe in God. No. It's for those people who enjoy the fragrances of Cassia, Incense and Myrrh, as high notes.

What was my inspiration for this? I did grow up in a strict Irish Catholic family. Meaning, going to church was essential to life. It was a forced requirement by my parents, brought on by their upbringing. I grew up as a fireman's daughter, in an environment that was surrounded by Irish and Italian ancestry. Most of us kids were attendees of Catholic rituals. That was either Catholic school or CCD classes. We weren't allowed to attend any other churches. All I had was the narrow path of Catholicism. Either way, I found my way later in life, away from the Catholic Church and into the Non-denominational world of having a relationship with God. What stayed with me was the lingering smell of Incense, cassia, myrrh and other mysteries of a Catholic Church. It smell is so distinctive I knew I had to create it. My memories of sitting in the velvet lined pew's, the ritual of every mass, the smell of the the 90 year old with blue hair, and the smell of crayons from all the children coloring while moms' and dads' soak up the hour and ten minutes of the priest and the holy rituals. If you have been in a Catholic Church of any kind, you will richly recognize this gorgeous fragrance. This candle boasts of Aloes, Cassia, Ginger, Vanilla, Patchouli, Myrrh, Musk, Citrus, Fir needle, cinnamon and bergamot.
