Sometimes the best things aren't planned.
 
Over the past year, we've been saving the last little pours of coffee fragrances from the Five Pines workbench. A splash from one batch. A sample that never found its own candle. A little extra from another. Rather than let perfectly good fragrance go to waste, they all found their way into one vessel, where they quietly mingled until we had a container  of something entirely unexpected. Upcycled, if you will!
 
Forest Roast was born.
 
Deep, rich, warm and unmistakably coffee, this accidental blend turned out far too good to keep hiding on the workbench. It's the scent of strong coffee poured before the woods are fully awake. A steaming mug in cold hands. Pine outside the window. Boots by the door. Nowhere particularly urgent to be.
 
We poured this one-time blend into just 24 deep forest-green vessels, and a few Minnesota Coffee Mugs, as a reusable keepsake.

This gives each candle a little 1970s wilderness-outfitter soul and a story that can never be duplicated exactly.
 
When this roast is gone, it's gone.
